Struck Apparel

Do they live up to the hype?

I’ve admired Struck breeches from afar but never up close and personal, as the price point is fairly steep for me. After I reached out to you on Instagram for breeches recommendations, the most popular answer was Struck Apparel. Later that same night, I decided to invest in my first pair of Strucks. As I closed my eyes to press purchase, I kept reminding myself they would be worth it. Two days later, when I slipped into my first pair of Struck Women’s 50 Series schooling breeches, I felt like a million bucks. Yes, they are expensive, but Struck has totally changed the game.

With a breathable and stretchy fabric you hardly feel like you’re wearing breeches at all. The Schoeller Prestige™ fabric is lightweight, yet very flattering. Because this material has a lot of stretch in it, I find that the they run on the larger size. I’m a size 26 in most breeches, but I could go down a size and still feel comfortable. With that being said, it is nothing that a belt wouldn’t be able to fix!

Struck has added the most beautiful finishing touches, including their knee patch. The design is striking, it possesses unique lines and points that elongate the leg. The knee patches use an innovative GripTech technology which is initially so(oooooo) sticky! Now, this final one is the one that blew me away the most, the zipper. At this point it was really the cherry on top, I wasn’t expecting such a heavy duty, high quality zipper on a pair of breeches.

I’ve been wearing these breeches for three weeks now, riding in them 3-4 times per week and have been washing them after every ride, to see how they hold up. Unfortunately, the knee patches have (ever-so) slightly peeled at the the tips of the design and they loss some of their tackiness. I was very pleased to see that they retained their shape and the emerald green colour hasn’t faded at all. All in all yes, Struck’s breeches live up to the hype, no doubt about it (I’m already thinking about buying one of their show breeches…).
